The amazing Android, the operating system for mobile phones developed by the ever advancing Google has done it again. After what seems to be ungrounded rumors spreading around the Internet forever, the official news has arrived. In an interview done by the New York Times, Andy Rubin, Google's Vice President of Engineering, has confirmed the rumor, which is that Android 2.2 will be able to support Adobe's Flash, allowing the Android 2.2 powered mobile phone users to use and watch all Flash required contents. A truly amazing deal for Google it is and it will no doubt further prove that any software developed by Google is surely the thing to have.
According the Rubin, the Flash support will be the standard one in the brand new Android OS that been circulated widely under the codename Froyo. This deal surely will no doubt an irk it will be to the people behind the much talked about phone, the Apple's iPhone, as they had been trying to score a deal with Adobe but to no avail. Apparently, the talk for an agreement had been a rough one to the point that both side of the companies had enough and simply just do not want to do business with each other.
Apparently, other than the amazing delivery to the Android powered smart phone users of the beautiful thing called Flash, the people of Google will go all out to launch attacks at all the smart phones out there and wanting to dominate the whole market by itself. What truly sets other smart phones apart from the Android OS is its openness. This will eventually help Google to win this competitive market as there are no restrictions for other companies to develop applications for the Android OS. Sooner or later, Android smart phones will be the dominator in this market, outselling other brands such as the famous Apple's iPhone and the BlackBerry. It is just a matter of time, as said by Rubin.
Currently, as of February, Google holds about 13 percent of the market share, ranking it at the fourth place. Microsoft came up third with almost 15 percent of the market share while the second place goes to Apple with 25 percent of market share. The reigning champion would be RIM with 42 percent of the market share. Google actually performed rather well, with an increase of almost 5 percent since last November. Out of the four main competitors, it was Google who increased the most. In the United States alone, about 19 percent of all the mobile phones in America are of smart phones.
Like what Rubin had said, it is just a matter of time before Google will be crowned as the new champion in the smart phone market and he strongly credited the success to the openness nature of the Android OS. If Google keeps coming up with new and amazing applications and scoring major deals with other companies that will be beneficial to its product, it might be sooner rather than later.
